A large arch could never support its weight! This one is less than one foot accross and only inches high -- just large enough for a smallish elf to pass under.

The 'magick' is how the picture was taken, since any lens with this width of view would distort the edges, and being this close will not have enough 'depth of field' to hold everything in focus.

This required an elf size 'camera obscura' using a pin hole apperature instead of a lens. My brother adapted a 60 year old Exacta 35mm with a ground glass screen and such a modified device. This required a 2 minute exposure without vibration which mandated pre-cocking the shutter and covering the whole contraption with a black bag -- all while stretching over a chasm. He took three shots at 1 minute, two minutes and five minutes. The elves were with him!

Now could it be that the elves built a chair for A...

Now could it be that the elves built a chair for Atlas to rest upon, to take his weight. Knowing about elves love of food and parties, he invited them to come to the arch bridge for a wonderful party.

When they arrived, he said, "Oh, you've come a day too early. Can you help me get ready? I need some help with the baking. Here's four cups of flour, a cup of sugar, some raisins and a cup of milk. Just add the 10 pound box of yeast and wait until it raises, then punch it down. I'll be back with the rest of the food later.

The elves did as he asked and, when they punched it down, they were swallowed up in the dough.
